Newcastle Community Playground committee would like to announce that Mary Hyland has retired from the committee as of Friday, June 15. The committee members and the community of Newcastle would like to thank Mary for all her hard work and commitment to the playground and we would wish her all the best for the future

COMMUNITY HOUSE DISPLAY

A display about Community Houses is being held in the reception area of the Co. Council Offices, Co. Hall, Emmet Street, Clonmel (opposite library) from Monday to Friday, June 18 to 22. Newcastle Community Youth and Resource Group, Tigh na nDaoine will have their display up which will be of all their on-going activites, groups, classes etc for anybody that would like to pop in and a have a look. The opening hours are 9a.m. to 1p.m. and 2p.m. to 5p.m.

ARTS & CRAFTS

With Elke Wilson will take place in Tigh na nDaoine on Friday 6, 13, 20 and 27 of July from 11am to 12noon. Children must be over 6 years of age and be able to use a scissors. Booking is essential. Please phone or text Mandy the name and age of child/children on (087) 1846393. Cost is €E3 per class.

NEWCASTLE HISTORY BOOKLET, CD, DVD

The 5th and 6th classes of Newcastle NS in association with Oidhreacht an Caislean Nua have just produced a History of Newcastle called “Newcastle past and present”. Booklet, CD and DVD will be officially launched by Fr Jim Mulcahy on Monday, June 25, at 11.30pm in Newcastle Community Hall. This is a fundraising event for Newcastle school. All welcome.

CEMETERY MASS

At the request of Newcastle Muintir Na Tire Community Council, the annual open air mass will be celebrated in the old cemetery Newcastle on Wednesday evening, June 27, commencing with rosary at 7.45pm, Mass at 8pm.

GAA

Cúl Camp

Newcastle GAA Club will host the Kellogg’s Cúl Camp, from August 6 to 10, in the GAA grounds. Registration nights have already taken place; however, late registrations can be facilitated by contacting the secretary of the Juvenile club, Caroline Kelly as soon as possible. Registration fee is €E55 for the first child, €E45 for the second child and €E40 each for subsequent children from the same family. On registration, children will receive the new Kellogg’s Cúl Camp Kit including jersey, shorts, socks and kit bag. The camp will run daily from 10am to 2.30pm Monday to Friday and is open to boys and girls from Junior Infants to 14 years old. Children will be provided with coaching skills, fun games and Go Games blitzes. Online registration www.kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie/camp-venues/county/28/camp/692 will save €5 per child. Details are available on promotional packs of Kellogg’s Cornflakes and Rice Krispies. Please note that the €E5 discount from promotional packs only applies to online registration.
