The Cahir Tidy Towns Group have completed the preparations for the bed on the Mitchelstown Road and they hope to get it planted before the end of the month. There will be added landscaping on the Mitchelstown Road next year but one step at a time.

They would like to thank Mrs. Butler, Carrigeen Castle, for her contribution to the planting and all donations are welcome.

There will be some ground cover to keep the weeds at bay and in 12 months time the group say they should see a huge improvement.

The weather has hampered Tidy Towns something terrible this year and they are struggling to get jobs that they had planned completed, but they say they will get there. Some extra signs will be erected concerning dog fouling and a big effort is still needed in litter control.

The community lotto is on sale from the Tidy Towns members and it now stands at almost €13,000 so support Tidy Towns and purchase from members.

In the hope of a breakthrough in weather Tidy Towns are still encouraging people to paint their premises and great value is to be got locally with paints. The judging of the local competition is under way and winners will be announced in September.

Keep up the good work and meet as usual on Wednesday night at 7pm in the market yard.
