OLD SCHOOL, THE COMMONS

A “Down Your Way Special” on Tipp FM featuring interviews of miners from the area will be aired on Thursday, August 30, at 7pm and repeated on Saturday, September 1, at 10am.

SKITTLES

Ballingarry U/12 skittles team beat the Ulster Champions Tyholland of Monaghan in the semi final on Saturday morning and on Sunday defeated the Connaught Champions St Michaels of Sligo. This is their second successive win at National Finals having won in 2011. Three of the team are still underage next year! Team: Daniel Lyons, Stephen Cleary, Lauren Cleary, Louise Lawlor, AJ Dunne & Aaron Dunne. Manager Jesse Donovan.

COMMONS CHILDCARE

Commons Childcare will re-open on Monday, September 3. Places still available. We offer pre-school for  children age 2yrs 6mths- school age Monday to Friday, 8.55am to 12.30pm. Free pre-school year ECCE and CCS reduced rates for families in receipt of any social welfare payment. ART CLASSES IN BALLINGARRY

Bridge will resume on Wednesday, September 5, at 7.45pm. New members welcome. Lessons can be arranged.

Its Parish Journal time and the committee are asking anyone with a story to tell, perhaps a journey they made, poetry, obituaries for loved ones who passed away during the year. Old and new good quality photographs wedding, graduations etc relating to the parish, please give them to any committee member as soon as possible to be considered for inclusion or email ballingarryparishjournal.com.
