CLERIHAN GAA

Clerihan Junior B football recorded their fourth win in the championship over Killenaule, almost certainly guaranteeing qualification for the knockout stages. Clerihan were on top from the start and led at the break 1.05 - 0.05 the goal coming from Jamie Kelly. The second half continued with Clerihan dominating but failing to turn it into score. A total of 15 wide tells its own story and only when the lively Aidan Flannery goaled with ten minutes left secured a 2.10 - 0.11 victory.

It was an impressive team performance and with the defence on top all six impressive and airfield winning their battle especially a very strong performance from Neville Melbourne. While the attack need to sharpen their shooting boots Aidan Flannery, Brian Keane and Jamie Kelly and the hard working Leo Curtin were to the fore.

Our ladies U14 squad played Moycarkey on Friday evening. They have been struggling lately to field a full team but still performed excellently in the second half only to succumb to the late advances of their opponents.

The club would like to send thanks to Pat Power and Nicola Maunsell for photos taken during the community games.
