Burncourt Big Breakfast
What an extraordinary morning it was in Burncourt. The Big Breakfast fund-raiser for the Community Hall was the place to be on Sunday. It was great to meet up with so many people and to see lots of Skeheenarinky people there. The committee and volunteers were working flat out for several hours and we hope the event was a huge success financially as well as being a great social success.
The next meeting of Community Alert is on Monday, November 12, at the school at 8pm. Note the new time. Each member is asked to bring a friend who can help with the household visits in connection with the proposed Text Alert scheme.
Not so many Trick-or-Treaters out in Skeheenarinky this year, but it made those we did see all the more welcome. Some great costumes were in evidence on the night and must have taken lots of effort by parents as well as the Treaters to get ready.
Such was the response from Skeheenarinky area in making submissions regarding the setting up of corridors from which a route for the 400kv powerline will be chosen, that the Public Relations company which handles such matters for Eirgrid has informed these Notes that they are considering holding an open day in the area. Well done to all who took the time to put pen to paper and make a submission.
