The death has occurred at an advanced age of Richard (Dick) O’Connor, Esposito Road, Walkinstown, Dublin and late of Ballinard, Lattin. An accomplished and stylish hurler, he won a West Tipperary Junior Hurling title with Solohead in 1938. He is survived by his sons, daughters, brother Sean, sisters Nellie, Mary and Tess, relatives and friends. Burial took place in Newlands Cross Cemetery.
Fund Raising Social:
Lattin Tidy Villages Committee will hold a fund raising social in the Village Tavern on Saturday, November 10, with music by Stephen Connery.
Lattin/Cullen Senior Citizens annual Christmas party will take place in The Golden Thatch, Emly, on Sunday, December 2, commencing with Mass at 12.30pm.
Bilboa N.S. will hold its annual Christmas Fair on Sunday, November 18, at 2pm in the Community Centre, Cappamore.
The Junior A Team played out a scoreless draw with Glengoole in a Division One game at Aisling Park last Sunday. On the same day the B Team travelled to Tipperary Town to play the local club’s second string in the Abbey grounds and won with two goals from Chris Power. Next Sunday the A Team is away to St Nicholas’ and the B Team travel to Dualla.
In underage soccer, St David’s U.11s defeated Castle United by 3-2, the U.13s lost by 2 -0 to Charleville and the U.15s went down by 2 -1 to St Patricks from Patrickswell. Next Saturday the U.8s are away to Hospital at 3pm.
A coffee morning and cake sale in aid of South Tipperary Hospice will take place in the Canon Ryan GAA Hall, Lattin on Wednesday, November 7, at 10 am. All are welcome.
