Christmas Shoebox appeal

In conjunction with Team Hope Ireland, send a gift to children in need this Christmas. Boxes can be aimed at either boys or girls, and in one of the age ranges of, 2-4yrs 5-9yrs or 10-14yrs old. Lids and boxes must be wrapped separately , the boxes filled with items such as, cuddly toys, colouring books and pencils, soaps, facecloths to name but a few. A full list is available on Also please include to the inside of the box, an envelope with E4 for transportation and processing costs. Please do not seal it as they need to be checked. They should be closed with an elastic band. Boxes can be left into Ballylooby Hall on this Wednesday Nov 7th from 7.30-9pm.

Ballylooby Ladies Club will hold their monthly meeting on this Wednesday November 7 at 7.30pm in Ballylooby Community Hall.

Brian Borus

Brian Borus Ladies Football club held a Table Quiz in The Village Inn, Ballylooby last Saturday night. It was a great success with 17 tables bringing in a total of €650. Thanks very much to The Village Inn for providing the great venue and food. Thanks to Cllr. Marie Murphy who compiled the questions, sponsored first prize and who was MC for the night. Thanks to all who donated spot prizes for the raffle. Thanks also to Seanie Lonergan who provided speakers for the event. Thanks to everyone who supported the club on the night. It is much appreciated.

Masses for Deceased Relatives

The November masses for deceased relatives will continue in Duhill on Wednesday & Thursday evening at 7.30pm and in Ballylooby on /Friday at 7.30pm and will conclude with the vigil mass in Ballylooby on Saturday November 10th at 7.30pm

Duhill Dramatic Group are in rehearsal for this year’s play, but what is it? I asked was it true that Mary Murphy and Marie Fitzgerald were making their stage debuts? I was told that’s another rumour! So, the only true fact that I can tell you is that last year’s Director Mick Dunne (Mitchelstown) is directing this year’s play. Whatever it is, watch this space!
