Castleview Lawn Tennis Club’s annual Halloween American Tournament went down a treat last week with many members competing in fancy dress.

Many laughs off court were followed by a great night of tennis, with not a puff of wind or drop of rain to dampen spirits.

Open Draw winners were Aidan Stewart and Carol Keogh while Michael Power and Bridget O’Dwyer were runners up.

Castleview’s annual Club Championships commences on Monday, November 12 and runs for three weeks. The finals take place on Saturday, December 1.

This competitions replaces the previous Winter League in which teams would organise their own matches over the course of several months.

The new format was introduced last year and was a great success for all involved.

The Club organises all the matches over the three weeks.

All sections are run in a round robin format, resulting in more court time for all entrants and a welcome sense of organisation. The draw will be available online prior to the commencement of the tournament next Monday. Log onto Castleviewltc.ie for more details.
