A representative of one of Carrick-on-Suir’s pharmacies gave an information talk to members of the town’s Carers Support Group at their monthly meeting.
Patrick O’Byrne MPSI from McCauley Chemists, Kickham Street spoke to carers about palliative care, common symptoms, syringe drivers, pain and analgesics.
He told them their own health is paramount as when the carer is healthy he or she is better able to care for others. He also emphasised the importance of people having their blood pressure checked regularly.
Following his presentation, Patrick took individual questions from the carers at the meeting. He said he was available at McCauley’s Chemists to deal with any personal query.
South Tipperary Carers Association Manager Richie Molloy thanked Patrick Byrne for attending the meeting.
