The death occurred in the Glady’s Nursing Home, Dublin of Miss Lily Meagher, Rathmines and formerly of Crohane, Drangan. Her remains were removed to Brett’s Funeral Home, Mullinahone on March 10 and following Requiem Mass in the Parish Church, Drangan on Saturday morning, interment took place in Crohane Graveyard. Our sympathy is extended to her sister in law Mrs. Dolly Meagher, her three nephews, Liam, Michael and Joseph, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Another new year is dawning on St. Patrick’s Ladies GAA and new challenges are brought to the fore from last year. We went down in history when the women brought back their first ever trophy to the Club this year. We hope to do one better.

Training for all junior players has started in Anner Park, Cloneen every Tuesday and Thursday at 8pm sharp. The turnout has been great so far; so let’s keep it up. New members are always welcome. Our first league match is fast approaching and watch this space for more info.

There will be a meeting in Cloneen Clubhouse on Wednesday March 23 at 8pm with Tara Ryan, our gaelic 4 mothers rep.

It’s a general information evening to discuss the G4M Programme and answer any questions people may have.

G4M is a great initiative aimed at Women and mothers who may not have played football for a long time or who may never have played before. Being a mother is not a necessity but you must be over 18 years.

On Saturday last, Conor Clancy scored 2-2 for South Tipperary Under 14 footballers in the Inter Divisional Footballers Competition. Conor lined out at full forward as South Tipperary defeated West Tipp in the semi-final. Unfortunately Mid-Tipperary won the final after extra time. Well done Conor.

We extend the sympathy of St. Patrick’s GAA Club to the Gorey families of Shanakyle, Drangan and Kilbehenny, Co. Limerick on the sad death in a car accident of Ruth Gorey, daughter of Denis Gorey, formerly of Shanakyle. The Goreys have been involved in St. Patrick’s GAA for several years with Paddy present Chairman of St. Patrick’s Juvenile Club. Lillian is the holder of several ladies football honours including senior All-Irelands, while Shane, Patrick and Conor have all been members of successful St. Patrick’s teams.

As a mark of respect, our under 16 football and Junior Hurling games were postponed last weekend.

On Sunday evening last, St. Patrick’s took part in the South Tipperary Final of Scor Na bPaisti in Clonmel GAA Centre.

All of these will be on stage in Drangan on this Friday night at 8.30pm in a concert. We hope to see a large crowd in attendance.

The 2010 South Tipperary Junior Hurling medals will be presented to our players at a function in Anglim’s Lounge, Cloneen on Friday 1st April.

On this Saturday afternoon, our Under 16 footballers play Mulinahone in Mullinahone at 4pm.

On this Saturday, our Junior Huirlers play Cashel King Cormac’s at 3pm in Cashel.
