‘Dundrum House Hotel and Friends Hospice Group’ has managed to raise €E13,490 following several fundraising activities over the recent months. This takes the total amount raised since its inception to €an impressive E133,890.

Fundraising events included a night of entertainment held at Dundrum House Hotel on St Patrick’s eve with well known local soloist Susan Corcoran, The Tipperary Gospel Choir followed by dancing to Wexford band, the Jimmy Hogan Band and MC-ed by Finula Crowe.

The raffle held on the night raised over €E1,000 and the committee is very grateful for the generous donations of prizes made by local businesses.

The “Caroll Cup” which is held annually at Dundrum Golf Club in memory of Pat Caroll of Dundrum also raised €E1,000 and an additional Hospice Golf event run by Mary and Michael Slattery raised a further €E830.

Speaking at the presentation of a cheque for the money raised, South Tipperary Hospice’s Moira Foley thanked the Hospice Committee for their continued efforts to raise the much needed funds for such a worthy cause, which now employs several carers on a full time basis.

Paddy Connery, member of the Dundrum House Hotel and Friends Hospice Group since it started, also acknowledged the support of all of the people who do such a great job selling tickets and to those who buy tickets each year.

Members of the committee welcome new volunteers to assist in organising and raising funds for the 10th Annual event in 2012 and ask that you contact Finula Crowe (062 71116) at Dundrum House Hotel if you would like to become involved.
