The Mayor of Clonmel, Cllr. Darren Ryan has expressed his thanks to Lee Fitzsimmons and his company LHF Waste Disposal for their outstanding community spirit.
Last weekend Mr. Fitzsimmons donated his time and staff to clean the oil that was spread around the Holy Year Cross on the Bank Holiday Monday morning, shortly before the annual Mass was due to be celebrated.
According to the Mayor “the community spirit shown by Mr. Fitzsimmons cannot and should not go unnoticed. He and a number of his staff voluntarily agreed to go up to the Holy Year Cross early on Saturday morning and they power-washed the oil that had been spread all over the historic site prior to the annual Bank Holiday Mass.
The gesture shown by this local company is exemplary of the community spirit that prevails in our town and as Mayor and first citizen, on behalf of the people of Clonmel, I say thank you to Mr. Fitzsimmons and his staff.”
