NEW INN FESTIVAL - FAMILY FUN DAY

Sunday, June 16, is the date for this year’s festival. New Inn Festival plans to be a fun day for all ages. There is no particular theme for this year’s parade - just “do your own thing”. All clubs from within the parish will be taking part. €20 per club, so get your thinking caps on! Individuals can enter also. Special guest “Richie Kavanagh”, Cashel Brass Band, Red Cross, Bric-a-brac and Bottle Stall, auction, produce tent, sports, U8/U10 blitz, Hurling Wall skills competition, Baby Show and Pet’s Corner are just some of the items on the day. New this year - a 5K village run/walk is being planned for Saturday, June 15, at 7pm. Registration at 6pm in the GAA centre. Adult €8, students/walkers €4, children free. Refreshment afterwards in the GAA clubhouse.

Route: Mount Mellery. Duration: 1 hr 30 mins. Please assemble at car park opposite New Inn Church at 1.15pm this Sunday 9 June.

WOODENSTOWN GROTTO

It is proposed to hold a mass at Woodenstown Grotto on Friday, June 14, at 7.30pm (weather permitting) for all households in the area.

CONVENT OF MERCY SCHOOL REUNION

Calling on all past pupils of the Convent in New Inn. Come back for a day of laughter and memories on Saturday, June 22. Mass at 2pm in New Inn Parish Church and then down to the New Inn Community Centre for a chat and a meal. Tickets €20 on sale now in Purcell’s Shop or The Rovers Inn, New Inn or contact 087 1823110.

“Remembering our loved ones.” The annual masses will take place (at 7.30pm) as follows: June 11 – Loughkent, June 18 – Knockgraffon, June 25 – Lagganstown. Weather permitting otherwise in nearest church. Please ensure graves are tidied and altar arranged. Thank you for your co-operation.
