Our U10 girls attended the Munster U10 blitz on Saturday in Staller Wallace GAA complex in Killmallock Co. Limerick. 16 girls travel to the blitz and we fielded two teams: St. Patrick’s Lions and St. Patrick’s Tigers. Our Lions team had games against Listowel Emmets (Kerry), Ballypheane (Cork) and local teams Fethard and Clerihan. Our Tigers teams had games against Grenagh (Cork), Kilmurray Ibrickane (Clare), Knocknagree (Cork) and Aherlow. A huge thanks to all the parents who travelled by bus and by car and for their support and help on the day.
Our U12 girls have had a busy few weeks with two games in the county U12 league competition. On Wednesday, July 31, we played near neighbours Fethard in Fethard. On the evening we met a much stronger team, with Fethard coming away easy winners. The next round league match was a home game against Clerihan. This was a very enjoyable game, with only a goal in it at half time, however Clerihan strove on in the second half and came out winning by 4.5 to St. Patrick’s 2.3.
Best of luck to our U14 girls Niamh Keane, Caoimhe Ryan, Shannon O’Connor Doran and Sadhbh Morrissey who are attending the county under 14 trails this weekend.
The junior ladies team played their second round championship game at home against Boherhalan B on Friday, July 19. St. Patrick’s ladies pulled away in the second half and were easy winners. The third round game was an away game against the Cahir B Ladies. St. Patrick’s Ladies won the game convincingly.
Attention now turns to the upcoming championship semi final, we await the fixtures. In preparation, a challenge match was held on Sunday against Clonmel Og and a further challenge game has been organised against Gortnahue.
