Good Luck to Exam Students

As this is exam week for both Junior and Leaving Cert students, the best of luck to you all with your exams and enjoy your holidays when you are finally finished!

Cahir Social & 
Historical Society

The Society will take a summer outing to Waterford on Saturday, June 15. A Viking triangle walking tour will be led by renowned historian, Jack Burtchaell. A guided tour of the medieval museum and bishop’s palace will also take place.

The bus departs from the Castle car park at 9.30am and returns at 5.30pm. Cost is €20 which covers bus transport and admission fees. To secure a place on the tour please put your name and contact number and €20 in an envelope and post in the assigned Cahir Social & Historical Society post box in the mall, opposite entrance to Lazy Bean cafe.

Cahir Community Lotto

There was no jackpot winner of the draw that took place on Wednesday, May 29. The draw was witnessed by Mary Fitzgerald. The numbers drawn were 7, 9, 16 and 20. There were four lucky dip winners each taking home €25: Margaret McDonough C/o C. Egan, Cahir; Zoe McLoughlin, 11 Rosemount Avenue; Dan O’Brien, Bella Rd, Clogheen; and S. Burke, Black Rd, Skeheenerinka. Congratulations to all.

The next draw will take place on Wednesday, June 5, in Cahir Day Care Centre at 12 noon. The jackpot will then be €4,000. Tickets are available in local shops and also at the Enterprise Centre.

Woodview News

Last month’s 50/50 Draw winners were Bridget McGrath, Jimmy O’Connor, Geraldine Long and Johnny Darcy.

As a Residents Association we are now untwined from Sraid Na gCuaich, so all proceeds will go to the upkeep and improvement of Woodview. Thank you to all who have supported us in the past. Your continued support in the future is much appreciated.

Ballingeary ICA

The next Guild meeting will take place today, Wednesday, June 5, at 8pm. in Ballingeary school house. Hostesses for the night will be Marie Davis, Katherine Hickey, Rebecca Cagney, Rosaleen Seery and Alice Blake. Antje Hogan will speak about a new website called www. tippon.ie which hosts information on lots of community activities in Tipperary. All are welcome to our meetings.

Convent of Mercy School Reunion

Calling on all past pupils of the Convent in New Inn, come back for a day of laughter and memories on Saturday, June 22. Mass will be at 2pm in New Inn Parish Church and then down to the New Inn Community Centre for a chat and a meal. Tickets are €20 on sale now in Purcell’s Shop or The Rovers Inn, New Inn or contact 0871823110.

Birdwatch Ireland Barn Owl Talk

On June 6, John Lusby of Birdwatch Ireland will give a talk in the Excel in Tipperary Town on one of Ireland’s most iconic species, the Barn Owl. John will focus on the role that the Tidy Towns can play in conserving Barn owls and also discuss the wider farming landscape. The talk will start 8pm.
