ARDFINNAN GAA CLUB
The Seniors may be out next weekend in the South Championship v Clonmel Óg. Check out the fixture page in the local papers for details.
Our Under 14s had an excellent win over Clerihan on Monday, May 7, in Ardfinnan. We started very well but Clerihan proved tough opposition and it was only in the last quarter of the game that Ardfinnan notched up a few excellent scores and won very comfortably in the end.
The Under 16s played in the South “A” Semi Final on Wednesday, May 9, in the Bypass v Moyle Rovers. This turned out to be a very entertaining game and even though Moyle Rovers won on the night we played some very good football and with a bit of luck the game could have swung in our favour. Thanks to all the players and management team for their efforts.
Our Minors were out on Monday , May 7, in Monroe in the South Semi Final. This again proved to be a very interesting game and Ardfinnan competed very well on the day. Killenaule were again our opposition and they had beaten us very well in the group stages of this championship. Ardfinnan although lost this Semi Final, battled very hard and played some excellent football throughout and had it not been for two fairly fortunate goals for Killenaule in the first half the result could have been different. A big thank you on behalf of the Club to all players and the management team of Gerard Condon, William Nagle and Andrew Heffernan for their efforts during the Championship.
The Club would like to wish our own Tom Kirwan and the Tipperary Minor Footballers the very best tonight as they play Cork at 7:30pm in Pairc Ui Chaoimh in the 2012 Electric Ireland Munster Minor Football Championship Semi-Final
The under 6 Player of the week is Tadgh Browne and the under 8 player of the week is Adam Carrigan. Well done Tadgh and Adam, keep up the good work. Any new players interested in starting underage football just come along to the new field on Saturday at 11am and join in, you are most welcome.

Thanks also to the Butler Family for the use of the Glenview Lounge and to all who made sandwiches and donated spot prizes for the raffle.
MUNSTER LEISURE SPIN
The Club will again hold a Fun Cycle in conjunction with Barrettstown on Saturday, July 28. We ran an excellent event last year and this year’s cycle is sure to be a wonderful occasion also.
