Annual Halloween Party It’s time for all the pucas, hobgoblins, witches and wizards to get ready for the Annual Halloween Party which will be held in Burncourt Community Hall on Monday, October 28, from 4pm to 6pm. Steve the Clown will be there to entertain all and there may even be a visit from Minnie and Mickey Mouse. Admission €3 per child. Christmas Craft Fair
Burncourt Community Council’s Annual Christmas Craft Fair will take place on Sunday, November 17, from 1pm to 5pm in the Community Hall. Why not come along and see the selection of products on offer from cakes, knitwear, jams, floral arrangements, jewellery, Christmas cards, paintings, candles, breads and lots more?

Afternoon Tea and Art Exhibition Last Sunday’s Afternoon Tea and Art Exhibition fundraiser in the Community Hall was a great success and exceeded the target set to purchase an outdoor box for the local defibrillator unit. Thanks to all the hostesses who made such a great effort with their table settings and also with the wonderful selection of cakes available. A big thank you to the kitchen crew for their commitment and hard work and to all who helped and contributed to the event. The Art exhibition was very well received and added greatly to the occasion. Again another great community effort for a very important cause.

Mattie McGrath TD will hold a Public Meeting in Cahir House Hotel on Tuesday, October 29, at 8pm to highlight awareness about the proposal to erect pylons and overhead power lines throughout South Tipperary which will have a huge impact on our scenery, environment and tourism industry. Parent & Toddler Group The local Parent and Toddler group will meet in Burncourt Community Hall on this Saturday, October 26, from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
Into the future
A course for lay people and priests will take place in Anacarty Community Centre beginning on November 7, it will run on Thursdays for five weeks, 7.30pm until 9.15p.m. Participants from parishes in this area are invited. Topics will include: Handing of the faith to the next generation; Leadership in the parish; Belonging to a community of faith; The parish of the future; Exploring ways of involving young adults in the church and parish. Those who are interested could contact a member of the Parish Renewal Team.
A big thanks to those who subscribed to the recent church gate collections, The Moore Haven Centre collection raised €1,025 and this weekend there was €576 raised for the Motor Neuron Association.
Were in order for Liam O’Dwyer, Donaskeigh, who celebrated a special birthday recently at his home with his wife Margy (nee Margy Kelly, Greenfields)All Liam’s sons, daughters and 13 grandchildren came home from Canada, Australia and New Zealand to celebrate the big occasion. What a lovely memory to have. There are many more ahead Liam.
Birthday greeting also to Josie Renehan, Toem, who with her friends on Saturday 19th celebrated her 90th birthday in Cashel Hospital as Josie is recovering after a hip operation. A very speedy recovery Josie is the sincere wish from your cousins and neighbours and all you friends from the Day Care.
To the O’Connor families, Upper Main Street and Glassdrum, and extended cousins of the late Jimmy O’Connor, Moher who was interred in the family grave in Cappawhite with his sister Sophie, who pre-deceased his two years ago. May his dear soul rest in peace.

U14 County League Champions Cappawhite are the new U14B county League champions. The U14 hurlers finished off a great year by capturing the league final on Saturday afternoon last in Cappawhite. They are now both league and championship double county winners. This was a closely contested game. The visitors lead by a single point at half time. Cappawhite came out after the break took the lead for the first time in the match. It was neck and neck right to the end until a late goal from Cappawhite sealed the double. Final score Cappawhite 2-09 Éire Óg Annacarty 2-04.

St Marys National School Clogheen will hold a Halloween Cake Sale on Friday, October 25, at 2pm at the school. Please bring your cakes, buns, muffins, cookies etc to the school on the morning of the sale.
Fine Gael Convention Cllr Marie Murphy was selected at the Fine Gael convention held in Cahir House Hotel last Sunday afternoon to contest the local elections next may. Marie said she was delighted to have received such a massive endorsement from the delegates and looks forward to the challenges ahead.

Vee Rovers F.C.
The u11s had a home game against Bansha Celtic. In a tie which both sides showed some excellent skills, the away team eventually ran out 2-1 winners with the Vee goal coming from Nathan Coffey. The u13s were also at home to Cashel Town. Having conceded two first half goals the home side who were wind assisted in the second half eventually ran out easy winners on an 8-2 scoreline. The goals came from an inform Shane Crosse (4), Eoin Wyse (2), David Murphy (1) and Kyle Morrissey(1).
The Juniors were away to Premier League side Peake Villa in the first round of the Tipperary Cup. In an even first half the Thurles side on interval 3-2 lead with Cormac Crowe and Kevin Murray keeping Vee Rovers in touch with two outstanding strikes. The fitness and guile of the opposition finally told and they ran out 6-2 winners with three goals in the last 18 minutes.
