Community Spirit Reigns High! Recently the tranquil silence of Ardfinnan village was broken by the roar of over 70 motorcycles belonging to the Dirty Dozen Motorcycle Club who along with the Hill Bar held a very successful sponsored bike run in aid of the school. A substantial amount of €3,855 was received by Mr. Tony Kenny, Chairperson of the Board of Management on behalf of Ardfinnan N.S. A huge thanks from the School Board of Management members, staff and pupils for this wonderful gift to the community.

Flu vaccine is now available in Ballingarry Health Centre by appointment with practice nurse. The HSE recommends flu vaccine for all those over 65 years as well as younger people with chronic illnesses. It is also recommended for people with close regular contact with pigs or poultry.
Ballingarry Rose Festival would like to thank those who supported the very successful table quiz last Saturday night,, October 19, in Webster’s Bar, The Commons. Donations were much appreciated. A great night was had by all. Next up is the Escorts’ Drag Night at Amby’s on Saturday, while Sunday night is the Final of the Rose in the Community Centre, Ballingarry, with music afterwards at Amby’s. Please support and enjoy the craic.

Camogie: The U8s and U10s finished their seasons training last Saturday with a Blitz held in Ballylooby. All the girls put in a great performance and great fun was had by the all. Thanks to everyone who helped with tea’s etc. on the day and a huge thanks to Paul, Majella and Helen for looking after the U8s during the year and to Kevin, Breeda and Valerie for looking after the U10s during the year.
Football: Brian Borus minors played Galtee Rovers in their first round championship game last Sunday. This was a good start for the girls as they had a home win. Best of luck to all the girls and to Jen, Garret and Nicki in the next few games
Fine Gael Convention Fine Gael Convention was held on Sunday, October 20, for the new Clonmel/Cahir area. Councillor Marie Murphy topped the poll and the others on the ticket are Cllr Liam Ahearn, Cllr Michael Murphy and Councillor Joe Leahy (Clonmel Borough Council) – Brid Greene was not selected.

Civil Defence Bansha Civil Defence unit meet every Wednesday at 8pm in the McGrath centre, new members are welcome to join, must be over 16 years.
Church Notices As the clock goes back form this weekend the church in Bansha will be closed not later that 6pm on Sunday to Friday and immediately after Mass on Saturday evenings. The entrance gate to the church grounds and cemetery will also be locked at the same time. Between now and Sunday, November 10, anyone desiring to book a first anniversary Mass throughout 2014 will have first preference for the weekend Masses in both churches. After that it will be first come first served as usual
Charity Night at Clonmel Dog Track On Sunday, October 27, a benefit night has been organised for Ann Carew, Boherlahan, who suffered a stroke in January 2012 at only 35 years old. The stroke has left her without the use of her left arm and leg. She has to learn how to walk again and with the help of physiotherapy this will eventually be possible. Tickets are €10. This includes entry to the track on the night, free race card and your name entered into the Buster Race Draw. Tickets are available for purchase at O’Dwyers Shop, Boherlahan.
