Intermediate Hurling

Our hurlers played Fethard on Sunday in Monroe. Fethard opened the scoring before Thomas Dineen replied with a great individual effort. A Fethard goal and some bad wides left us trailing by 3 points. Both teams exchanged points before an excellent Conor Fogarty point and a free by his sibling Enda left the score level at 1-4 to 0-7 at half time. We started the second half well, Conor Fogarty again on target. However Fethard hit the next three scores to leave us trailing. We managed to level the game again but a late Fethard free gave them a 1-10 to 0-12 win. Best for Ballyneale on the day were Mark Cahill and Michael Houlihan in defence and Kieren McGuire hurled well in a variety of positions. We were perhaps unlucky to get nothing from the game but a lot of wasteful shooting and bad use of the ball cost us the game.

Intermediate football

Round 3 is fixed for May 19 v Ballylooby Castlegrace at 7pm in Ned Hall Park.

Juvenile Club

Our U14’s played Mullinahone last Friday in football. Mullinahone were the better team on the day. A special thanks to Mullinahone for their effort in changing the fixture.

Well done to the U10 hurlers who took part in a blitz last Saturday where they played St. Pats, Clonakenny and Aherlow.
