Mid Tipp Hill Walkers busy summer schedule is now in full swing.
The Friday evening walks are as popular as ever with over 30 most evenings. These relatively low level walks depart from the Slievenamon Road car park in Thurles at 6.30pm, and new walkers are always very welcome. It is a great way to begin hillwalking, and the walks are extremely sociable and good fun, so why not come along this Friday when the weather looks so promising.
Meanwhile the Tuesday evening rock-climbing in Ballykeefe Amphitheatre is also going strong with about 30 participants every week. Departure point is opposite the Horse and Jockey Hotel at 6.15pm and, again, new climbers are always welcome.
And the summer walks are also very busy with 36 people out last Sunday. Matt Joy led the high level walk and Jim Finn the moderate level walk, both in the Nire Valley on what was the nicest Sunday weather-wise we have had in a long time. This Sunday the usual high level walk leaves the car park in Cashel at 11am.
