Carrick-on-Suir Credit Union had a successful year, despite the severe impact of the recession, its chairman reported at the branch’s 51st annual general meeting.
Chairman John Casey commented in his report on a number of significant events that occurred during the past year including the selling of part of the Credit Union’s site to Super Valu, which has been developed into more extensive and secures car parking facilities for both Credit union and Super Valu customers.
He referred to the liquidation of the former Anglo Irish Bank, which resulted in investment losses for many credit unions, including
Carrick on Suir.
He said Carrick Credit Union is fully provisioned to guard against such eventualities and that members have not been impacted.
