Our Junior Footballers got their championship hopes back on track on Thursday evening last in Sologhead with a well deserved win over Arravale Rvs.

Early Arravale Rvs pressure paid off with 1-1 inside the opening ten minutes but a two goal salvo by Phillip Doherty midway through the first half settled things and from here to the final whistle they kept up the momentum to run out convincing winners.

Two points by Alan Riordan and one each by Mike Fitzgerald, John Joe O’Brien and Eoin Riordan completed our first half total of 2-5 to Arravales 1-2.

The second half saw us continue to exert control of the game adding a further 1-4 while limiting Arravale to just two points.

Second half scores by Colm Riordan with 1-1, Alan Riordan 0-2 frees and Phillip Doherty 0-1 brought the final scoring tally to 3-9 to Arravale Rvs 1-4

Our Junior Hurlers also remain on course for a place in the West Semi Finals following a one point margin victory over Clonoulty/Rossmore in Annacarty on Sunday evening last.

In what was a well contested tight game from start to finish, it was level at the break 1-4 to 0-7 with Sologhead getting the all important extra second half score to secure victory.

Phillip Doherty topped the scoring with 1-6 (1-3 frees), Barry Ryan (1-0), Christopher O’Connor and Jamie Ryan 0-2 each, Christopher Ryan and Colm Riordan 0-1 each for a final score of Sologhead 2-12 to Clonoulty/Rossmore 1-14.
