Congratulations and well done to all volunteers who assisted in preparing our village for this years Tidy Towns Competition. We gained 5 points on last year. Efforts were commended, particularly this year because of the wet spring and summer. “The approach roads to Drangan were pleasant and welcoming. We noted your efforts at highlighting area of interest with floral displays. The school should be proud of its achievement of two green flags.”

Congratulations to Breda O’Donovan, Tullocussaune, who won €500 in the September County GAA draw. The October draw will be held this Friday, October 5.

On Saturday afternoon, September 29, our u21 hurlers were defeated by Cahir in a championship game played in Fethard. Our u13 hurlers travelled to Cappawhite where they defeated the home team and lost to Golden-Kilfeacle to qualify for the finals on this Saturday, October 6, which we expect to be in Cahir at 11am. Our u10 hurlers will also be in action on Saturday. This Saturday our Junior footballers play Ardfinnan in the South semi-final at 3pm in Monroe.

We extend sympathy to Ann Duggan and family, Newtown, and to John Duggan on the recent death of Paddy Duggan.
