THANKS - CARD GAME FUNDRAISER
Thanks to those who supported the “45” Card Game fundraiser held by Burncourt Community Council in Mulcahy’s Bar, Burncourt, last Friday night.
The Community Council would like to express their appreciation to Mary and Sinead for running the card game, to Dodo and Willie for their hospitality, to Maureen Creed and Dodo for the ticket selling and to the card players who won their tricks in such a good humoured way with obviously not a token in sight!
€396 was raised on the night which will go towards future community council projects and towards the ongoing expenses of the community hall such as heating and electricity.
As the Community Council has just cleared the debt incurred by the new floor, there will be further fundraising events over the coming months. As always your continued support would be appreciated.

CONGRATULATIONS AND WELL DONE
Congratulations to the U-13 Brian Boru girls on winning the County Final last Saturday in Boherlahan.
The team comprised of players from Ballylooby, Ballyporeen, Clogheen, Skeheenarinky and our local Burncourt girl, Andrea Conway.
The final game was tough and evenly matched but Boru’s stood up to a strong Moyle Rover’s attack to achieve victory in the end.
Well done to the full team panel for their hard work over the past year and great credit and praise to the team management for their ongoing commitment.
All are looking forward to the County medal awarding ceremony in due course and meanwhile-back to training for the team!
