The MooreHaven Centre 2012 Christmas Fair took place last Friday and was well supported by the local and regional community and the families and relatives of the 108 service users.

A live broadcast from Tipp Mid West Radio added to the atmosphere and the buzz of the day was escalated as Santa met children in his grotto.

The students from the Abbey CBS and St. Anne’s sang a medley of Christmas carols and songs from their recent production of Grease.

“They were wonderful,” said Derry McMahon, General Manager of MooreHaven. “These young adults are great ambassadors for their schools.”

Sales in the sewing, garden centre and woodwork sections were brisk and successful and a feast of Christmas delights was on offer in the canteen.

A 2013 MooreHaven calendar proved a very popular sale with each month represented by a photo taken by the service users in the centre.

The bumper Christmas hamper raffle also took place with 20 different prizes.

“I’d like to extend a warm thank you to the Tipperary Musical Society for adding to the festive cheer, singing a medley of Christmas carols,” said Mr. McMahon.

“It was a great team effort.

The MooreHaven Centre has opened a Christmas Craft Shop in Daly’s Shop, 47 Main Street, Wednesday to Friday from 10am to 4pm and 11am to 5pm on Saturdays.

“A Happy Christmas to all our service users, their families and relatives, our suppliers and customers and staff from the MooreHaven Board and management,” added Mr. McMahon.
