The official opening of Drangan Community Centre was held on Saturday, December 8. The building was blessed by Rev Fr. Tony Lambe. Also present were Cclrs Jimmy O’Brien, Joe Brennan and County Council Chairman John Crosse. We thank all who supported this venture and wish you all a very Happy Christmas and the best of everything in 2013.


On Sunday, December 16, Moyglass will be the location for our eighth meet of the season at 11am.


There will be no Whist Drive in Drangan on Monday, December 24, due to Christmas Eve Masses. The next Whist Drive in Drangan will be the Legion of Mary Whist Drive on Monday, January 7.


The next draw will be on Sunday, December 23, when the Jackpot will be €1,150. There will be an additional draw for five large Christmas Hampers for all tickets entered in this draw.

When Ballingarry Presentation School defeated Thurles C.B.S. in the county final B (Hennessy Cup) by 0-9 to 0-6 the following St. Patrick’s players were in action: Niall Keane, Jamie Broderick, Brian Anglim, Niall Mockler, Barry O’Dwyer, Michael Boland, Thomas Phelan, Brendan Kearney and Eddie Hayes.

The annual general meeting of St. Patrick’s Senior GAA Club was held on Friday, December 7, in the clubhouse at Anner Park Cloneen. Attendance on the night was poor especially from the players. On the night the following officers were elected: President Michael McGrath; Vice Presidents: Alan Britton, Jim Foley and Jimmy Gleeson. Patron Rev. Fr. Tony Lambe PP. Chairman - Nicholas Moroney, Vice-Chairman - Colm Dunne, Secretary - Catherine Mockler, Assistant Secretary - Mark Fitzgerald, Treasurer - Micheál Broderick, P.R.O - Paddy Moroney , Drug and Substance Abuse Officer - Kieran Clancy, Delegates to South Board - Catherine Mockler and Jimmy McGrath, Delegate to County Board - Nicholas Moroney, Delegate to County Football Board - Jimmy McGrath.

Another meeting will take place on Wednesday, December 12, at 8pm in the clubhouse at Anner Park Cloneen where the appointment of management teams will take place. All those who have an interest in being part of a management team for the various teams to attend. A bigger attendance of players would be welcome.
