The Senior Citizens party was a most enjoyable afternoon. A sincere thank you to our guests for joining us and to the musicians, dancers and the hardworking committee whose input ensured that it was a great success.

We are holding a Christmas Floral arrangement evening on December 19. You can bring along your own oasis and flowers and Mildred Stokes will be there to demonstrate how to make some magical seasonal arrangements. Entry fee €5 which will also enter you in a raffle. For info 0526133187.

The highlight of the winter programme for the younger people is the Children’s Christmas party which will take place on Friday, December 21, with Santa as our special guest.


The AGM will take place on January 5. Nominations for team management and Selectors are sought for next year and it would be appreciated if names can be submitted to Club officers by December 21. Club gear available - contact Michael Dempsey 0876188237.


Last week winners were Jim and Mary Garrett on 11 games. The Accumulator for the Christmas Hampers is shaping up to being a cliff hanger with a great many players staying close together scorewise. It concludes on December 19. This will be a special party night with lots of great prizes, refreshments and some festive goodies for everybody. Patrons, please note that there will be no game on December 26 (St Stephens night). Cards will resume on January 2 at 8.30pm.


Thank you to everyone who donated to our “gift of giving”. The Saint Vincent de Paul were very grateful for all the beautiful, good quality toys, books, clothes etc. everything will be put to great use, especially in these difficult times.


Will take place in Kilsheelan on December 18 and in Kilcash on December 19. Both services will be at 7.30pm. This is a very special way to prepare for the Feast of the Nativity of our Lord.

This year’s annual Christmas walk in the woods over Kilsheelan will take place on this Sunday, December 16. Walk commences at 12.30pm and is open to everyone who would like a walk in the woods. Your first challenge on the day will be to introduce yourself to someone on the walk who you are not familiar with so that you will have a new friend by day’s end. Two routes of different length to accommodate all levels will be arranged. For those with buggies, a route has been arranged for your benefit, so please come along and enjoy the day out. There will be a welcome cup of tea and goodies available in the Centre after the walk and Santa has been invited to attend.

A primary school disco will take place in the KPLAN community centre on Saturday, December 22 - more information next week.
