The photographic exhibition ‘Through the Lens’ in the South Tipperary Arts Centre, Nelson St., Clonmel , opposite the courthouse, was officially launched by the Deputy Mayor, Cllr. Helena McGee.
This is a very vibrant and exciting exhibition with over 50 professional and amateur photographers exhibiting over 125 photos on every theme imaginable in the gallery.
There are still life subjects,landscapes, seascapes, portraits and abstract photographs. Most of the prints are taken by photographers from Tipperary as well as prints from Hungary, New Zealand and Nepal
The exhibition will be open Arts Centre Hours, Tuesday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. incl. lunchtime and Sat 12 to 4 p.m. until Friday 21st Dec. The Exhibition will continue in the New Year from Tuesday 8th. Jan. ‘13 to Sat. 12th. Admission is FREE to all STAC’s Exhibitions.
The Arts Centre has animated Historic Novels by local man Dermot Poyntz, an Illustrated children’s book by Presentation Primary Teacher Noelle Lambert, hand made cards by Liz Fitzpatrick and hand made Christmas Decorations all for sale in the Arts Centre at present. The Flower Arranging Demo by Marjorie O Flynn was very well attended so much so that she will give class in the New Year as will Lesley Lynch whose craft demo was also very successful. The Arts Centre will run a Watercolour course by Ray Osborn from late January. Names are now being taken at the reception South Tipperary Arts Centre 0526127877 for the watercolour course and Ann Brennan’s Oil and Acrylic Course and also for all children’s afterschool and Saturday classes .
