TRACTOR RUN IN AID OF SOUTH TIPP HOSPICE
It’s that time of year again when the Annual Tractor run will commence from Ardfinnan Green at midday on Sunday, May 19. There is always a very large entry of tractors for this event, and as well as the tractor run, lots of activities takes place including the very popular tug-a-war pull.
DUHILL CARD DRIVE
The weekly card drive in Duhill Hall concluded for the winter period on Sunday last. Winners on the night were Tom O’Brien, and James English, Second price was Tom Noonan and Tom Beary. Lucky table: John English and Patsy Coffey, Joe Loughnane and John Mangan. Accumulator won by Patsy Coffey and John English. Thanks to Pat Lonergan on behalf of Duhill Community Council who ran the card drive each Sunday night and thanks to everybody who supported the drive and we look forward to seeing you all in late September/ early October
Our club had a very busy weekend with the U8s and U10s taking part in a Blitz’s last Saturday morning hosted by the Cahir camogie club. The girls played Cahir and Ballybacon. The U12s played Moyle Rovers in the next round of their Championship game on Saturday last also. The U14s are in a quarter final on Tuesday, April 30, against Ballingarry in Ballylooby at 7pm.
Brian Borus Ladies Football Club is hosting a Fashion Show in St. Paul’s Community Centre, Clogheen on Thursday, May 9, at 8.30pm. Wine and food will be served on the night and there will be half time entertainment. Tickets €15 each and are available from Nora 0860688109, Anne 087 9783898 or any of the committee. It was a great week for our underage teams. The u14 team played Cahir in the opening game of their campaign in the A Championship. They were deserving winners on a scoreline of 6-12 to 4-3. The u16 team played Arravale Rovers in the replay of the County C semi-final last Sunday in Clogheen. This time the girls made no mistakes and won comprehensively on a scoreline of 6-7 to 2-5. Well done to them all and best of luck in the final which will be held next weekend.
