Ray Creaney is very well known by Mid Tipp Hill Walkers for leading moderate level walks. Last Sunday, however, he showed he has lost none of his edge when leading 14 high-level walkers on a mammoth, nearly seven hour trek in the Galtees. On a very cold and windy April day, we took in Cush (twice!), Galtybeg, and Galtymore as well as lakes Bohreen, Curran and Diheen. All in all, a great day out, and great preparation for those who are shortly heading to Scotland for week in the Highlands.
Meanwhile, this coming Sunday moderate and high level walks will leave from opposite the fire station in Cashel at 11am and, as always, new walkers are very welcome. Just bring boots or strong shoes, warm clothes and raingear and a packed lunch. Also, a change of clothes and footwear or after the walk is a good idea.
