A very successful meeting was held in the Community Hall Golden on Monday last. It was decided to go ahead with setting up the text alert messaging service. Thanks to the local GAA Club who has set the ball rolling by donating €1,000 towards the cost of some of the signs. All houses in the parish will be visited over the next three weeks to collect mobile phone numbers of those wishing to join ‘text alert service’. We also intend setting up a GPS Map of the entire community which will enable the fire and ambulance services to go direct to your location.
