As well as vice-president Frank Maher, St. Mary’s Hurling Club has also paid tribute to two other people associated with the club who also died recently.
They are Michael Kelly of Tivoli, Clonmel. Michael was a vice-president of the club back in the 1980s and the club’s prayers and sympathy, and those of the community, are extended to his four sons Jim, Paul, Michael and Joe, most of whom played for the club at some stage, and their families.
Sympathy is also extended to the family of the late Peggy Doyle, Pearse Park, who died last week. Her son Dessie played hurling for St. Mary’s at one time and was also a noted athlete who won All-Ireland titles.
