‘Worst road’ in Waterford needs urgent attention

A pothole-riddled rural road near Clonmel has been condemned as the worst road in County Waterford.

A pothole-riddled rural road near Clonmel has been condemned as the worst road in County Waterford.

Ballymacarbry-based Fianna Fail Cllr. Michael J O’Ryan said residents along the narrow High Road at Kilmacomma, near Pollard’s Sawmills, were putting up with a lot and conditions on the steep gradient cul-de-sac were so bad that some services were refusing to travel along it or deliver goods.

Cllr. O’Ryan highlighted the state of the road at a recent Waterford County Council meeting and brought the Council’s Director of Roads to the High Road to see its condition.

He called for the road to be repaired urgently before the Waterford local authorities amalgamation.

Roads Director Paul Daly agreed to assess the road with a view to rectifying its problems.
