The Primary Care Team of medical and health professionals covering the Carrick-on-Suir area met with local community and voluntary groups recently to share information on services and acitivities in Carrick-on-Suir.
They looked at a case study of a family as a means to learning about all the supports available to people regarding their medical and social health needs.
The aim of the Primary Care Team is to provide primary care services that are accessible, of high quality and meet the needs of the local population. The team is usually the first point of contact with the health services.
In Carrick on Suir, primary care is provided by public health nurses, physiotherapists, community registered nurses, occupational therapists, Dietitians and social workers.
There is also a network of other services available to support the PCT such as speech and language therapists, psychologists and dental personnel.
