Ss Peter and Paul’s CBS band have been selected as finalists in the Walton’s Music for Schools competition.

The boys will perform in the National Concert Hall in Dublin on Monday, April 16th in a gala performance involving six finalist primary schools and six finalist secondary schools.

It’s a great honour for the school to have been selected out of all the applicants from all over Ireland. Ss Peter and Paul’s will be represented by its 42-strong Senior Band.

Applications, which included audio and video recordings of the boys performing, were judged by Walton’s Music and Lyric FM. The finalists were announced by Liz Nowlan on her Classic Drive programme on Lyric FM.

The Clonmel band will play two pieces, including Raider’s March, which won them their place in the final. They will be conducted by musical director Yvonne Moran.

Many supporters are travelling to Dublin to support them.
