Glasha Flower and Garden Society members held their 27th annual summer show in Grangemockler, transforming the Cardinal Browne Community Hall into a scented flower park ablaze with colour.
Up to 200 exhibits in 39 classes adorned the tables and hung from brimming baskets each one unique and beautiful. Sections included coffee table displays, summer in the garden, foliage arrangement, delightful miniature flower arrangements, children’s exhibits, window boxes, cut flowers, dahlia selections, geraniums, busy lizzys, cut flowers displays, cacti, flowering pots and shrubs. In the tea room, eggs, jams and home baking produce were also judged. The Society meet in the Cardinal Browne Hall on the second Monday of each month, from 8pm to 10pm, starting in September and new members are always welcome. The Christmas Gala Flower Demonstration will be held in the Carraig Hotel in November. All proceeds to St. Brigid’s Hospital and the Cystic Fibrosis Association.
