On Super Sunday Tadgh and Mary Ryan from Drangan, Cashel, received the Matthew Donovan cup in recognition of the support shown by them to the Tipperary racecourse.

“We’ve been with the Tipperary Races Supporters club since they started over twenty years ago and we think it’s a great social event,” said Mary Ryan. “We’ve been to Puncherstown, Leopardstown races with them to name a few and we went to Killarney this year also.”

Since the mid 1990’s the Tipperary Races Supporters club have presented the Matthew Donovan cup to people who have shown great support to the Tipperary Race Course. This year the award was presented to Tadgh and Mary Ryan by Matthew Donovan’s son Mark, to thank them for their long standing support to Tipperary Races.

To complete their Super Sunday Mary and Tadgh got lucky and won on two horses.

“We have a small bet now and then but we wouldn’t’ be great gamblers,” joked Mary. “Tadgh and I would like to thank the Tipperary Supporters Club for the award; it was a great gesture and something you’d never think you’d get.”
