Larkspur Park Juvenile Tennis Club represented Cashel very successfully at the Community Games Munster finals in the University of Limerick on Saturday last.
The U-16s played Kerry in the semi-final and were comprehensive winners 3-0.
Unfortunately they lost 3-0 to the boys from Cork in the final. The boys doubles were Pat Muldoon and Niall O Connor, girls were Rachel Perdue and Ciara Fogarty, the mixed doubles were the brother and sister team of Alex and Annie Marshall.
Other team members were John O’Connor, Bill O’Brien, Rachael Quinlan and Maria Fanning.
The U-13 team played Cork in the semi-final and won all their matches.
The boys doubles were Michael O’Meara and Eoghan Connolly, girls were Katie Morrissey and Caoimhe Perdue with the mixed doubles team, Jamie O’Keeffe and Sophie Bourke.
Other panel members were Adam Skeffington, Murragh McDermott, Janeanne Fitzgerald and Jessica Fitzell.
Team captain Caoimhe Perdue was presented with the Munster perpetual trophy and the team members were presented with their gold medals.
They now travel to Athlone in August to compete in the All-Ireland Finals. Congratulations to all involved.
Meanwhile, entry forms are now available in the clubhouse for the Junior Club Championships between August 12 and 24.
Closing date for entries is Tuesday, July 31.
All entrants must write unavailable dates on their entry form. The competition is for 10 to 18 year olds. A round robin will be organised for U-8s and U9s.
Barbecue and prize-giving will be on Friday, August 24.
