Tipperary Minor Football team manager David Power received a huge welcome to his old school, St Mary’s CBS Primary in Carrick-on-Suir, last week with the All-Ireland Minor Football trophy.

The GAA mad children of his alma mater, popularly known as the Greenschool, were delighted to get the opportunity to hold the Markham Cup, which also paid a visit to Ballyneale, Grangemockler and Newtown Upper National School.

Also on the school tour with the All-Ireland minor football trophy were John Cummins of the GAA Games Development Association and Cllr Joe Brennan, Vice Chairman of the South Board.

David Power took time at all the schools to speak to the pupils encouraging them to believe in themselves and enjoy their sports and listen to their coaches.
