A Tipperary based image consultant is providing confidence and style tips in the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind ‘Next Step’ Training Programme
Five blind or vision impaired students from across Ireland attended the charity’s Next Step training programme last week.
It programme aims to equip young people, who are blind or vision impaired with the skills to manage the transition to life in college or the workplace.
It is practical and supportive with hands on activities aimed at overcoming the challenges which participants are likely to face.
Participants learn about shopping and budgeting skills, cooking skills, IT technology, and confidence skills.
Confidence is an issue all teenagers face and this year Tipperary based image consultant Caroline Ryan of Style by Caroline gave a talk to the participants.
She spoke about building confidence, handling difficult situations such as meeting new people or preparing for an interview along with style tips.
“This is a great part of the course and the students love it, and we are so grateful to Caroline for donating her time so kindly,” said IGDB instructor Aoife Josh.
