Last Friday the Horgan Family and Kickhams GAA club presented a cheque for €12,400 to South Tipperary Hospice Movement.

Richie and Breda Horgan, Knockavilla passed to their eternal reward in 2013, both availed of the services of the Hospice Movement and in appreciation their family, in conjunction with the local club, decided to run a golf classic in their memory to raise funds for hospice.

Launched in July by Tipp’s Liam Sheedy and Eoin Kelly it was held in Dundrum Golf Club from August 13 to 15. Two days were extended to three, 106 teams took part.

Goods and service in most cases were supplied on a voluntary basis, main sponsors were Butler Centra, Dundrum, and Allbright Roadmarking, the Horgan family business. Organisers thank all who helped make the event a success.
