Carrick Council staff - no large reduction expected from June

There will be an estimated 20 local authority indoor staffand a similar number of outdoor staff based at the Carrick Municipal District headquarters in the town when the new local authority district is established in June next year.

That’s according to Town Manager Pat Slattery, who informed the Town Council’s latest monthly meeting that while there may be some reduction in staff numbers, it won’t be large.

The biggest change will be that Town Hall based Council staff will work more closely with staff based in the rural district on projects.

Roads staff based in the town, for example, will also work on rural road repairs and maintenance projects outside the town. The new Carrick Municipal District will cover a large rural area as well as the towns of Carrick, Fethard and Killenaule.
