Clonmel traffic calming will ally concerns in Brookway estate

Traffic calming measures have been approved for a Clonmel estate, which has been a cause for concern for families living there for some time.

Calling for traffic calming in the Brookway estate, Tivoli Road, Cllr. Gabrielle Egan revealed at a recent meeting of the Borough Council that residents are “very concerned” because a number of accidents have occurred there over the years; that it is dangerous entering and exiting the estate; and children’s safety is a great concern.

The response of the Borough Engineer Jonathan Cooney was that Brookway is one of four estates approved for such measures in the 2014 Roadworks Programme, following consultation with elected members, and based on notices of motions received.

His response was welcomed by the members.
