Eire Og Annacarty ladies celebrate sporting successes

A presentation of medals to the Eire Og Anacarty winning U13 Ladies Football team, who recently beat Lissenhall N.S. in the Cumann na mBunscol competition took place at Annacarty N.S. recently.

“The girls and boys are to be commended for all their efforts,” said Principal Olivia Ryan. “It was a great year for the parish and I’d like to thank the great support of the local club to the school.”

To celebrate Eire Og Annacarty’s very successful this year, local GAA players and their respective cups were invited to the school for the medal presentation. Brian Fox presented the medals and brought the Intermediate All-Ireland cup as well as the Munster Intermediate cup. Catriona Fitzgerald represented the Eire og Annacarty club bringing with her the County Intermediate Camogie cup and Angie McDermott brought the senior ladies football cup on which there are many Annacarty/ Donohill players.

Vinnie Ryan, Chairperson Eire Og GAA was in attendance and Paudie O’Dwyer, the winning captain of the Eire Og senior hurling team who won this years west final brought the West final cup.
