20th Festival from 12th 13th October 2013.
The Nire Valley Walking festival celebrates its 20th year as one of Ireland’s most successful walking festivals. There are walks for all grades, and the autumn is the perfect time to start or reignite your passion in this great outdoors.
Explore the Bronze Age sites or visit some of the Nire Lakes, for the fitter walkers there are trails along the tops of the Comeragh Mountains which will test your stamina with the ‘A’ and ‘B+’ walk on Saturday 12th. The family walk is on Sunday 13th October.
Follow the tracks and trails that people walked upon as they went about their daily lives, on Saturday 12th follow the trails from the Nire into Clonmel and on Sunday 13th walk in the footstep of a funeral path that linked the Nire to Rathgormack in a feature we are calling “The Way They Went”, which is part of the Gathering.
More details can be found on the website www.nirevalley.com
All walks register at the Nire Hall, and there will be light refreshments after.
