Carrick-on-Suir Town Council is to invest €161,300 in 39 minor road, public lightingsand other infrastructure improvements in the town this year.
The Council’s elected members unanimously approved the Council’s 2014 Block Grant Budget at the local authority’s March meeting.
The Block Grant scheme will fund €66,600 worth of road resurfacing around the town. Two projects at Greenhill Close and Woodland Heights are already finished.
A further €54,000 will be spent on footpath repairs and upgrades in the town while, €21,000 is to be invested in public lighting repairs and replacements.
A total of €5000 will be spent on ramps in residential areas and the remaining €13,800 will be used to erect bollards, improve signage, line roads and repair manhole covers.
