School bank helps Carrick CBS student save

A €200 donation to Carrick-on-Suir CBS Secondary School is being put towards the purchase of jerseys for the school’s U-15 rugby team.

The money was donated by Allied Irish Bank as a thank you to the school for operating a school bank. The Build-a-Bank (AIB) Transition Year Project began last year and is still up and running. It encourages students to manage money and save. TY year students are designated as the school bank officials. AIB student officers call to the school once a fortnight when the school bank opens for students to make lodgements into their accounts.
