Appreciating our ecclesiastical heritage

Local man and historical expert Professor Willie Nolan will give a public lecture on the ecclesiastical heritage of Slieveardagh and surrounding areas on Thursday evening next, November 15 at 8 p.m. in the Horse & Jockey Hotel. The lecture will give an account of the rich heritage of the area, including the many abbeys, church ruins, graveyards and other sites of religious significance. Admission is free. Slieveardagh Rural Development AGM

The AGM of Slieveardagh Rural Development will take place on 26th November 2012 at 8pm in the Slieveardagh Enterprise Centre, Killenaule. All are welcome to attend.

Slieveardagh Cultural & Enterprise Centre – Office Services:

The centre opens 5 days per week from 9am – 5pm Monday to Thursday and 9am – 4pm on Friday; closed 1-2pm each day. The following Office Services are available in Slieveardagh Cultural & Enterprise Centre, Killenaule (052) 9156165. Photocopying, Colourcopying, Typing, Laminating, Binding, Dance / Debs Tickets etc, Raffle Tickets (books), Posters, Business Cards, Booklets, Invitations, Gift Vouchers, Sponsor Cards and Faxing. Excellent rates – on all the above. We type essays, assignments etc only €2.00 per typed page. A lot of our prices are now at reduced rates.

Internet Café: Broadband Internet Access is now available to the public in the Slieveardagh Centre – all new computers. Only €2.00 for one hour.

Room Rental

Available in Slieveardagh Centre Killenaule. Computers and Projector available as part of the room rental. Tea / Coffee facilities also. Only €10.00 per hour.

Follow-On Banjo Classes

Anyone interested in Follow-On Banjo Classes? Adults who have basic banjo skills will upgrade their skills and move onto more advanced banjo, the lessons will be taught by a Qualified Teacher. Must have own banjo. The lessons will run on a Thursday Night for 10 weeks – 2 hourly sessions (7-9pm). Cost €100.00

Afterschool Programme

Computers – Monday 19th November 3.30pm – 4.30pm (6-8 year olds) - Cost for 5 weeks €20.00

Children will learn all aspects of computing from turning on the computer to working with Microsoft Paint and Word, printing, saving etc by a Qualified Tutor.

Bodhran Lessons – commencing Tuesday 20th November 3.30pm – 4.30pm (6-12 year olds) - Cost for 5 weeks €20.00 Children will learn how to play the Bodhran by a Qualified Music Teacher. Bodhrans supplied. Fully booked.

Computers – Wednesday 21st November 3.30pm – 4.30pm (9-12 year olds) - Cost for 5 weeks €20.00 Children will learn all aspects of computing from turning on the computer to working with Microsoft Paint and Word, printing, saving etc by a Qualified Tutor.

The Afterschools Programme runs for 5 weeks. Then there is a one week break and the programme commences for another 5 weeks. The programme runs throughout the school year.
