Two County Finals for Camogie sides
The U14s travelled to the Ragg County Camogie grounds to play Holycross in their county semi-final last Saturday, May 11. Conditions on the day were not what one would expect for the second week of Summer, showers and gale force winds.
Westside
There’s no disguising the stand-out item locally from last weekend: Sarsfields crash out of the Mid in spectacular fashion. A second half tour de force from Drom and Inch swamps the multiple champions in a veritable score-fest.

Clonmel RFC lose under 19 East Munster final to Nenagh
Clonmel U19s took on Nenagh on Friday night in the East Munster Cup Final. Nenagh started the better and kept Clonmel pinned in their half for the first 10 minutes until Clonmel got their hand on the ball and went at Nenagh. Both teams went tit for tat until Darren Cass intercepted a pass during a Nenagh attack and broke from his own half to outstrip the Nenagh defence and open the scoring for Clonmel and make it 5-0.
Fethard U15s come up just short
Fethard U15s were beaten in the East Munster Cup final on Sunday morning last by a much bigger Dungarvan side. To be fair to this Fethard team, they played their hearts out and if it was not for so many refereeing decisions going against them, it could have been a very different story. Fethard started very well against a strong wind with some great runs by Gearóid Fahey and Joe Noonan keeping Dungarvan pinned in their 22.

Athletics
The Annerville 10K Road race took place in Clonmel on Sunday with over 360 participants taking part. Conditions, while cool, were ideal for running and we witnessed some great performances. Sandis Bralitis of West Waterford went to the start to defend his title and right from the start he set a strong pace and soon went into the lead, which he never relinquished as he came home a very worthy winner in 32 mins 20 secs. This was a great performance, as he was well clear after 2K.
