Busy Sunday for Hillwalkers

John G O'Dwyer led a group of six climbers up the Ledge Route on the North-East face of Ben Nevis, on the recent trip to Scotland by members of the Mid-Tipp Hillwalkers.

Last Sunday Joan and Jerry Quinn led 17 walkers on the high-level Cush circuit in the Galtee Mountains taking in Slievecushnabinnia, Galtymore, Galtybeg and Cush mountains.

The bright but cold conditions and hard ground were lovely for walking and a most enjoyable day was had.

This coming Sunday (March 10) will be a busy one with three walks leaving at 11am from opposite the fire station in Cashel – moderate and high level walks and a gully climb. As always, new walkers are very welcome – just bring boots or strong shoes, warm clothes and raingear and a packed lunch. Also, a change of clothes and footwear for after the walk is a good idea.

For further details about any of the walks, check out our website at www.midtipphillwalkers.ie or call Dan Condren at 087 2273082. Anyone doing the gully should bring along harness and helmet also.
